Le gouvernement interdit l’Ethéphon souvent utilisé pour le mûrissement de la banane plantain

Dans une note officielle datée du 11 septembre 2023, Gabriel Mbairobe, le ministre de l’Agriculture, a souligné que l’usage des pesticides contenant de l’Ethéphon est autorisé au Cameroun. Mais uniquement pour les cultures d’ananas et d’hévéa.

Toutefois, il a souligné que l’Ethéphon ne fait pas mûrir le plantain. Mais lui donne simplement une teinte jaune sans qu’il soit réellement mûr. Par conséquent, l’utilisation de ce produit chimique sur la banane plantain est implicitement proscrite.
